Partial to Radio Head

Description

The commercial models that make up the Radio Head Partial Prosthesis family are classified as surgically invasive implantable medical products for long-term use.
The Partial Radiohead Prosthesis is indicated for reconstructions of comminuted fractures and progressive radiocapitellar arthrosis in the human body. Its purpose is to restore or prevent loss of elbow stability, range of motion, and length radius.

The product was developed to support loads in two types of movements: flexion-extension and pronation-supination. In this way, it helps in bone reconstruction, and also in the transmission or relief of mechanical loads on the injured segments. The Radio Head Partial Prosthesis is a non-modular, metallic monocomponent radial component. Its end is chamfered to facilitate insertion into the spinal canal. The head of the prosthesis is highly polished to allow for better joint performance.

This product is intended for partial joint arthroplasty, primary or revision, developed to be fixed to the radial spinal canal using bone cement.

Indications

Partial Radial Head Prosthesis is indicated in cases of comminuted fracture of the radial head associated with:

Elbow instability;
Rupture of the medial collateral ligament;
Ulnar lateral collateral ligament injury;
Equivalent Monteggia with fracture of the olecranon and radius;
Extensive coronoid fracture
Essex-Lopresti injury (injury to the radio-ulnar interosseous membrane and distal radio-ulnar joint).
The selection criteria for the size of the implant to be used will depend on the condition of the bone and the technique to be adopted to carry out the procedure. These conditions are the responsibility of the doctor who evaluates the patient and decides which implant should be used.
The implants were designed for use in the circumstances described above, so any other uses are considered contraindicated.
